Ani Volkan received her MFA in Printmaking from East Tennessee State University and has taught with after school arts programs, museums, universities, art centers, and non-profits. She was the recipient of a fully funded artist residency at Anderson Ranch Art Center in Spring 2012, a partially funded residency at the Post Contemporary in Troy NY in 2016, and at Chulitna Lodge in Lake Clark AK in 2019. She received an Innovation Grant from ArtsKC in 2019 to investigate better inclusivity in community spaces. Her specialty is alternative lithography and photo etching techniques. She believes learning is about experimentation and playing within the process.
