Laura Ladendorf
Laura Ladendorf is a life-long artist including a career in graphic design and illustration. More recently she studied as much printmaking as she could while working at Asheville BookWorks, a public art studio with exceptional equipment which has since closed. Laura’s work in both print and book arts has been included in shows across Western North Carolina. Several of her artist books are included in university collections around the US.
“I love layering different processes because this presents an unpredictable path to the finished piece. Relief printing is my norm but I enjoy etching, stenciling and occasionally get a bit blissfully lost in photography. My artist books often include my original prints as a basis for the visual aspect of the book. Misprints never fo to waste and lately I’ve been repurposing them gladly into collage.”
