Lauren Miko
Currently from Asheville, NC, Lauren Miko has lived in Europe, Asia and all over the United States. She has a BA in Graphic Design from Humboldt State University. She worked in the commercial art business for years, but dreamed of pursuing her own creative artistic direction and sharing techniques with others. Lauren became interested in printmaking in 1999. She spent many years in the Washington DC area, and was part of a printmaking studio and gallery at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, VA, where she is still a member. While living there she regularly gave family workshops on printmaking at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery. She has also worked for years with a wounded warrior program called Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, doing volunteer design work that
incorporates her love of printmaking with her graphics background. Lauren’s work is in the permanent collections of Georgetown University, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Library of Congress, the Federal Reserve and the Smithsonian Institution and in numerous private collections.
